It is not possible to perform an in-place upgrade from an earlier version of Slackware ARM to version 15.0. This is because all previous versions use the "software floating point ABI", where as 15.0 uses the "hardware floating point ABI". There is no backwards compatability. The method to upgrade from all earlier versions of Slackware ARM is to perform a fresh installation. *** WARNING: Your Hardware Model may no longer be supported! *** Slackware ARM 15.0 only supports systems with an ARMv7 CPU and higher. A quick way to check your architecture within the running OS: [mozes@armslack ~] $ uname -m armv7l If your machine reports an ARMv7 architecture, there's a good chance that it can be upgraded to Slackware 15.0. For supported Hardware Models and their installation guides please see: https://docs.slackware.com/slackwarearm:inst_sa32_rel_15.0 If yours is not supported, it will need to remain on Slackware ARM 14.2. IMPORTANT: Follow the installation documents for the officially supported Hardware Models, and ensure that you upgrade the version of U-Boot and adjust the U-Boot configurations as necessary. Failure to do so may result in the installation not working. If you are running a community supported device, please check their documentation as they may have a documented upgrade path. -- Stuart Winter Sept 2021
